About the project
<This American Life>
The concept for my teaser is about music. Starlee found new life through exploring music and it saved her from the depression of her break up. Music healed her and made her gloomy life colorful. I used metaphor in my story, using abstract shapes forming sound waves to convey the melody of the music. The sound moves in waves, slowly becoming her hair to symbolize her emotions. Being immersed in the music brought her "hair" back to life and made it colorful.
As the camera pulls back, we find a full image of a woman, representing Starlee, as she is in a full colorful world.
